Media entertainment company LEVEL-5, known for their popular franchises like “Yokai Watch” and “Inazuma Eleven”, have revealed information on their latest project, known as “Megaton Musashi”! This new story will take place in a sci-fi future where humanity is on the verge of extinction thanks to the invasion of an alien race known as the Dorakuta, leaving the remainder of humanity with no recollection of the Dorakuta or their invasion. A small group of refugees whose minds were not altered to forget the Dorakuta are tasked to fight back against the alien race through the use of giant mecha known as Musashi, which have the ability to swap weapons and limbs with the use of special cards.




The franchise, which takes inspiration from early mecha anime like Mazinger Z and Getter Robo, will include a television anime, video game franchise, collectible card game and action figures, featuring the titular Musashi and their weapon change gimmick. There are even plans for a serialized Megaton Musashi manga in internationally renowned manga pulication Shonen Jump, created by Mazinger Z inventor Go Nagai!
