After releasing a teaser trailer for their upcoming film in June, Disney and Pixar have uploaded the full trailer for “The Good Dinosaur”! The film, which has been in production for over 4 years, will take place on an Earth where the dinosaurs never went extinct, and will follow the adventures of a young Apatosaurus named Arlo and a human boy named Spot. The trailer features both Arlo and Spot, along with a number of other dinosaurs that will be featured throughout the film. “The Good Dinosaur” will release in theaters nationwide on November 25th, making it a great holiday film for the whole family. Animation studio Pixar has unveiled their newest upcoming film, titled “The Good Dinosaur”! Based on their popular “Line: Tsum Tsum” mobile app videogame, Disney has started a weekly short miniseries based on the adorably round characters! Originally debuting as a Christmas special short at the end of 2014, the CGI comedy short has now been expanded into a continuing series, showing off the Tsum Tsum designs of popular Disney characters, whom have gained international popularity and have appeared in a variety of merchandise like keychains and plushes, and their cute antics. Two episodes have been uploaded to their official YouTube channel, and created with a collaboration between Disney and Polygon Pictures, with more episoeds planned every Monday.

Evangelion short streamed online

Animator Expo, a weekly collaboration between anime artists across the medium, recently uploaded a CGI animated short based on the popular Evangelion series. Titled “Evangelion – Another Impact”, the short was headed by Sola Digital Arts, the animation studio behind the recent “Captain Harlock” movie, and was directed by Shinji Aramaki, whose works include anime like Bubblegum Crisis, Megazone 23, and Halo Legends. The short, meant to be an aside to the Evangelion story, features a brand-new Eva Unit, as well as complex CGI environments and animation. Check out the short in the video below!

First look at new Thunderbirds series

The original “Thunderbirds” television show, which aired from 1964 to 1966, astounded viewers across the world with its use of miniatures and iconic puppets in order to create a thrilling television series for children and adults alike. Over 50 years since the show’s original airing, the Thunderbirds are coming back to television with “Thunderbirds are Go!”, thanks to ITV Studios and Pukeko Pictures!
This new series will span 52 episodes across two seasons, and continue to follow the Tracy family and their rescue exploits.



In the newest teaser released earlier this February, fans got their first look at the scenery of the new Thunderbirds series, compliments of special effects and model team WETA Workshop, who are best known for their work on the Lord of the Rings franchise. The trailer shows off the new animation style used in “Thunderbirds are Go!”, which is a combination of CGI and classic miniature models. The trailer shows off iconic vistas, like Tracy Island’s various rooms and hangars. The new Thunderbirds series is set to begin airing on April 15th, with more news to come as we get closer to release.

Weta Digital, the New Zealand-based visual effects company known for their work on the Lord of the Rings franchise of films along with movies like King Kong, Godzilla, Iron Man, and more, have recently uploaded a video describing the creative process behind the effects of their latest film, “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies”! The video details the effects behind the movie’s large-scale battle sequences, along with the creation of monsters like the infamous Smaug. It’s amazing to see how many tiny details have been implemented into making the film look as real as possible, and adds another layer of appreciation for fans of the movie franchise. Disney and Marvel’s newest upcoming animated movie, “Big Hero 6″, has been gearing up for its fall release in theaters with special trailers, online videos, and figure promotion at events like San Diego Comic-Con. Now, with the movie’s release just over a month away, Disney has released a new trailer, showing off some of the action from the movie as well as detailing some important plot points.



The trailer details some back story between the protagonist, Hiro Hamada, along with his squishy robot Baymax. The trailer also shows off some of the action scenes featuring the two characters and their team of crime fighters, the titular Big Hero 6. The movie is scheduled to debut in theaters on November 7th, 2014, and is sure to deliver on tons of comic book styled action and humor.

Nintendo announced CGI Pikmin movie

Nintendo, known across the world for their beloved video game icons like Mario, Link, Pikachu, and more, has announced that a short film based on their popular Pikmin franchise will debut at the upcoming International Tokyo Film Festival. The movie, which will be screened in 3D, was created by Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto, who wanted to use the film as a means to give his character emotion and actions that could not be performed in the game franchise. The film will be screened for free from October 23rd to the 31st at several International Tokyo Film Festival locations across Japan, and will be separated into three animated shorts.

Pikmin is a real-time strategy video game created by Nintendo famed developer Shigeru Miyamoto in 2001. Based off of Miyamoto’s gardening hobby, the games star the intergalactic traveler Captain Olimar and his exploits with the strange plant-like alien creatures called Pikmin. Olimar and the Pikmin travel together across alien landscapes to find ship pieces and treasure, and encounter dangerous native life-forms along the way. The series has since gained international fame, spawning two more games in the franchise, as well as variety of collectible toys, merchandise, and more.
