Artist paints in perspective at Paris pavilion
2015 at 01:55 pm by admin | Comments Off
Artist Felice Varini’s work has always taken advantage of perspective and the scenery around him to create optical illusions. His work, which often consists of abstract shapes and geometric constructs, only comes into full view from a certain perspective, forming out of a series of seemingly random lines throughout the environment.
His most recent exhibit, titled “La Villete En Suites”, embodies his unique style of installation painting within the Paul Delouvrier pavilion in Paris, France, and uses the unique structure of the modern architecture to shape his forms. The exhibit opened its doors on April 15th, and takes advantage of shape, color, and even the ceiling of the building in his works.
While his works are better experienced in person, these photos help show off how his work comes together for the viewer as they move around the exhibit. For those wanting to see his work in person, though, the exhibit remains open until September 13th.

NASA launching world’s biggest telescope in 2018
2015 at 12:01 pm by admin | Comments Off
With Earth Day just passing us by, NASA plans to look beyond the confines of our planet with plans to launch the world’s largest telescope! This new telescope, named the James Webb Space Telescope, will be 100 times more powerful than the current Hubble Space Telescope, which has already given us astounding images of galaxies and cosmic objects up to 12 billion light-years away. With the groundbreaking power of the new telescope, scientists at NASA hope to be able to see the first galaxies of the universe, and hope to study how the universe was created. On top of that, the James Webb telescope will have the power to study distant planets, allowing researchers to understand the composition of their atmospheres, surfaces, and more! To be able to accomplish these feats, the James Webb will incorporate a 21-foot long mirror, which will have 70 times the light-gathering capacity of the Hubble telescope. When launched, the James Webb telescope will be placed around 930,000 miles away from the earth, which will keep it from being overheated and blinded from the Sun’s infrared rays. With the telescope set to launch in October 2018, soon humanity will have a new means of viewing and researching the universe around us!

Television studio ABC is set to bring the Muppets back to TVs across the nation with a new series! The series will feature the return of a number of beloved Muppet characters like Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, and others, but with a twist. The producers of the new series hope to gear the new show towards a more adult audience, who grew up with these beloved puppet characters. The new show will instead focus more on the personal lives of the Muppets, shown off in a comedic documentary-style show similar to fan favorites like “The Office” and “Arrested Development”.
Using this opportunity, the directors hope to build upon the individual personalities and relationships of the Muppets not often seen in their previous, children-focused shows and movies. Specifics of the program are still under wraps, but ABC hopes to release more info on this new series later in the year.

The President of the United States has even given an official speech in the name of the holiday!
Discussion of dangerous news about climate change and global environment issues are at the forefront of the discussion today, and while these topics are fundamentally important to our continued survival on the planet Earth, it is important to not forget to appreciate nature around us and what it gives us on a daily basis. In order to make a real change in these issues, we as a whole must devote much more than this one day to the issues at hand. So make sure to get outside, enjoy yourself, and keep in mind the lessons and topics that are being discussed globally today; we’ll need to keep them in mind if we truly hope to make a difference and make this world a better place for every living being.

Artist creates 3D printed film

As a testament to the use of 3D printing in the creative process, artist and filmmaker Gilles-Alexandre Deschaud has uploaded a trailer for his fully 3D-printed film! The film, titled “Chase Me”, is a solo project by Deschaud, whom has spent the past two years putting together every aspect of the film. Every frame of animation is its own printed figure, and even the sets and backgrounds used in the film have been created through the printer. Deschaud has uploaded two videos of the movie, featuring a short trailer as well as a making-of video which shows the creative process behind the film. While the film is still under development, these videos give viewers a good look at what to expect, as well as what can be done with 3D printing in animation.
