As a continuation of last year’s Super Mario-themed Hot Wheels line, which featured box art from a number of Mario games on the tiny collectible vehicles, Mattel has announced a new wave of Super Mario Hot Wheels! This new line of vehicles will be themed around the characters of the Mario universe themselves, and will feature vehicular representations of Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Peach, Toad, and Bowser. These unique vehicles will be released in limited amounts later this summer, so Nintendo fans should make sure to keep an eye out for these cool little Nintendo cars!

After 2012’s release of the limited edition DX Soul of Chogokin Mazinger Z figure, Bandai has finally announced the next release in the DX SoC line: Great Mazinger! The successor to Mazinger Z in the original 1972 animated series, the Great Mazinger is a powered-up version of the original Mazinger, and it shows in this new figure release! Great Mazinger stands at an impressive 13″ tall, and includes the same features and playability that the DX Mazinger Z introduced, like glowing LEDs in the chest and eyes, sounds from the classic TV show, removable armor, detailed inner frame, and hanger stand.

On top of those features, the Great Mazinger comes with a number of new accessories and features, setting it apart from the original Mazinger. These include the Scramble Dash jet pack, its iconic Mazinger Blade, and alternate arm and leg armor pieces to recreate its unique attacks such as the bladed Backspin Kick and the Drill Pressure Punch!

Square Enix has updated their line of Marvel-based Play Arts Kai figures with the announcement of Play Arts Kai Spider-Man! Originally debuting at concept artwork at New York Comic Con this past October, the figure is finally ready to hit shelves all over the world! The collectible features all of Play Arts Kai’s iconic articulation and attention to detail, as well as sporting a unique redesign akin to other Play Arts Marvel figures previously shown, such as Iron Man and Thor. Sporting a unique armor-styled suit with black details and ridges, the figure itself includes a number of swappable hands to perform all of Spidey’s iconic poses, as well as several different kinds of web effect pieces. He even comes with a unique web-shaped stand along with the standard Play Arts support stand! Currently slated for an August 2015 release, this new Marvel collectible is now open for preorders at around $120 USD, so Spider-Man fans everywhere shouldn’t miss out on the opportunity to get their hands on this awesome web-slinging figure!

Figure and collectible company Hot Toys has announced the newest entry in its growing line of Batman 1/6th scale figures: the Batman design from 1992’s “Batman Returns” film! With Michael Keaton representing the Caped Crusader in Tim Burton’s classic Batman film, the figure strives to preserve his unique Batman characterization through impressive life-like sculpting and articulation. True to life, the figure cannot move its head, emulating the real costume’s hard cowl preventing movement, but instead offers a number of faceplates to recreate different emotions, and even comes with posable eyes! The figure itself will come with a variety of accessories, including swappable hands, Batarangs, grappling hook, swappable hands, and a unique stand.

Along with the new Batman figure, Hot Toys is releasing a two-pack, featuring Batman as well as Michael Keaton’s Bruce Wayne in dinner attire! This figure features a unique sculpt of the Batman’s unmasked head, which can be used with the Batman figure to emulate his iconic unmasking from the film. While no price or release date has been set for either the standalone Batman figure or the two-pack, Hot Toys has announced that the figures will release later this year.

Kamen Rider celebrates 45 years with gold statues

The “Kamen Rider” series of live-action television shows is celebrating its upcoming 45th anniversary in 2016 with a series of gold statues! Depicting the original Kamen Rider from the first show, which debuted in 1971, these statues will come in two sizes, 4 inches and 8 inches, and both will be sculpted entirely in solid gold! These figures will be manufactured alongisde Tokuriki Honten, a company known for its 300 years of gold casting and metalwork, ensuring the quality of these valuable memorabilia pieces.
These pieces, which are meant for the most diehard fans of the franchise, will be available for preorder starting from April 24th until December 31, 2015, with the figures releasing sometime in 2016. Thanks to being made entirely of solid gold, these pieces will cost a pretty penny for collectors, ranging from $6,500 for the 4″ version to $47,000 for the larger 8″ version. For some, having a gold statue of one of Japan’s most iconic superheroes will be well worth the price!

Not ones to disappoint, Hot Toys helped celebrate the new year with the announcement of the latest figure in the 1/6th Star Wars line: Darth Vader himself!

Originally teased in December 2014, the Darth Vader figure was officially revealed earlier this month, and will feature a number of unique features and accessories. The moment awaited by Hello Kitty fans across the world has finally arrived: the first official Hello Kitty Con has opened its doors! Located at the Museum of Contemporary Art in downtown Los Angeles, California, the con has been widely anticipated since its announcement earlier this year, and anticipates over 25,000 visitors from all over the world during the weekend-long event! The Con opened its doors late Wednesday night to select VIP visitors, and has since opened its doors to all visitors. The Hello Kitty Con stands as a tribute to Hello Kitty, who is celebrating her 40th anniversary this year, and includes a number of exhibits, attractions, merchandise, and activities to help celebrate the occasion.

Some attractions at the con include giant replicas of classic Hello Kitty merchandise, including her original 1974 vinyl coin purse, as well as miniature kitchens, teacups, and other photo op attractions around the show floor. There are also exhibits located within the Con which tailor to specific types of Hello Kitty merchandise from the past 40 years, ranging from fashion to food to collectibles. A variety of exclusive, limited edition collectibles are also available at the event, ranging from figures, apparel, jewelry, make-up, and more.

As the Halloween season draws closer and closer, apparel company Mishka and Kidrobot have announced their newest creepy collaboration in the form of the Bad News Dunny! These figures, which debuted as exclusive pre-orders at the Mishka booth at last week’s New York Comic-Con, will now be available at TOMODACHI later this month! An entirely original sculpt, this new line of vinyl collectibles comes in a variety of colors and sizes. The larger 8″ Bad News Dunny will be available in the brown-colored Kodiak Edition, while the smaller 3″ Dunny collectibles will feature both the Kodiak Edition and a white-and-pink Polar Edition! While the 8″ Polar Edition of the figure is a Kidrobot-exclusive release, the 8″ Kodiak Edition and both of the 3″ Dunny figures will all be available at our TOMODACHI locations in the Rosedale Shopping Center and the Mall of America on October 24th, making this the perfect seasonal gift for fans and enthusiasts alike!
