Founded by Mr. Shintaro Tsuji in 1960, Sanrio began in Japan where customary greetings are accompanied by an exchange of small gifts. Sanrio turned this gift-giving tradition into the company’s “small gift, big smile” mission to help people express their heart-felt feelings. Since then, spreading smiles through small gifts has become universal and over 400 unique Sanrio characters have been introduced to share global messages of happiness, friendship and fun. Please join us in celebrating the legacy of Sanrio and its family of beloved characters that have helped nurture friendships around the world.
