Frederator Studios releases Hatsune Miku robot

Frederator Studios, most well-known for their work with the Adventure Time cartoon series, has worked with toy company Ultra Tokyo Connection to design a brand-new Hatsune Miku-themed robot toy for the upcoming Anime Expo 2016! This figure features the Vocaloid character herself in Frederator Studios’ iconic graphic art style, along with a large Miku-themed mecha for her to pilot and interact with. The robot itself is fully articulated, and features a number of accessories for itself and Miku, including microphone stand and leek-themed baton. The robot even opens up, allowing Miku to enter and pilot it in style! The toy will release at Anime Expo, which will run from July 1st to July 4th, and will also be released for preorder online from July 5th to July 25th. Miku returns to opera this summer

Popular Vocaloid program icon and character Hatsune Miku will return to the stage this summer with “The End” opera project! This stage show originally debuted at Yamaguchi, Japan in 2012, and then was shown at the Theatre du Chatelet Opera House in Paris, France in 2013. Now, “The End” will come to the Dutch National Opera and Ballet in Amsterdam on June 4th, as part of the 2015 Holland Festival! In line with the previous showings of “The End” over the past couple of years, the show will be entirely CGI, focusing on creating a narrative around the songs created through the Vocaloid program. A short teaser video was uploaded onto the Holland Festival YouTube, giving us a first look at the visuals intended for the performance. On top of this summer performance, Miku will also be receiving a concert at the Nippon Budokan arena in Tokyo, Japan this September.

Nomura’s Hatsune Miku video debut

Square-Enix artist and designer Tetsuya Nomura is widely know for his work in the Final Fantasy series, designing characters and creating artwork for a number of recent entries in the franchise. Earlier in October, Nomura unveiled his redesign for the popular Vocaloid character, Hatsune Miku, showing off her design in a teaser poster as well as a prototype figure at the Square-Enix booth at this year’s New York Comic-Con. Now, a promotional video that initially debut to select audiences at the Hatsune Miku Expo in New York last month has finally debuted online at Miku’s official YouTube channel! The short video, meant to demonstrate Miku’s and the Vocaloid program’s use as a creative tool, shows off her new Nomura design in a flurry of colors and cool-looking environments. NYCC Play-Arts Kai on display

Comic-Con has always been a place where companies and manufacturers can talk about their latest upcoming figures and merchandise. Square-Enix, video game developer and toy manufacturer, has continued this trend at last week’s New York Comic-Con with the unveiling of several different upcoming figures in their popular Play-Arts Kai line! the figures shown at NYCC covered a wide variety of mediums and franchises, ranging from comic book classics like Batman, Iron-Man, and Spider-Man to franchises like Final Fantasy, Appleseed, Predator, Vocaloid, and more!
Some highlights from their Play-Arts Kai booth include figures of Batman, Catwoman, and Hatsune Miku redesigned by Square-Enix artist Tetsuya Nomura, who is known for his artwork and character designs for the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts franchises, as well as new figures for the popular “Final Fantasy VII” line of figures, including Tifa, Barret, and Red XIII in their appearances from Advent Children. With no release date yet scheduled for most of these figures, keep your eyes open for more Play-Arts Kai news!
