Batman, originally debuting in May 1939, is widely recognized as one of America’s classic cultural icons, and has been adapted into a wide variety of movies and animated franchises. Batman will celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2014, and the icon will receive a number of memorials for the milestone throughout the year. One such tribute has been released by producer Bruce Timm, known for his work on the 1992 Emmy-award-winning cartoon, Batman: The Animated Series. This short animation, titled “Batman: Strange Days”, showcases “a lost tale from Batman’s past”, according to DC Entertainment, and features the classic style associated with the popular 90s cartoon. Created as a love letter to both the series itself as well as fans who grew up with the cartoon, this short is one that Batman fans will surely want to check out!
