Light installation immerses IFA attendants

Artist Jason Bruges and his design studio have created a light-based experience for visitors to the 2016 IFA industrial trade exhibitions in Berlin, Germany, titled “Pixel Constellation”! The art piece takes advantage of four piece of technology from LG Electronics in order to create the exhibit, along with a constantly changing light system meant to recreate the shimmering night sky. The exhibit itself uses light, sound, and architecture in its display, and will remain open at the IFA for the duration of the event this September. Check out the exhibit itself in the video below!

Sanrio unveils new animation studio

Sanrio, Inc., the multinational character merchandise company widely known for the creation of Hello Kitty and other adorable characters, has announced that a brand new American-based animation-focused branch of their company will begin operation in June! The new company, called Sanrio Pictures Entertainment, will focus on creating big budget Hello kitty films, works, anime, and other short features starring Hello Kitty and other popular Sanrio characters, like Badtz-maru, My Melody, Keroppi, Tuxedo Sam, and more. While Sanrio’s in-house animation studio has been creating shorts based on their characters for years, Sanrio Pictures Entertainment hopes to bring the highest quality to their works, and plans to work around a budget of $164 million per movie. The company is also considering working collaboratively with other characters from separate companies, and is even thinking about creating video games and film-related goods. With such extravagant plans set for Hello Kitty on the big screen, the future is looking exciting for Sanrio fans worldwide!

Upcoming Godzilla film teaser and details

After 2014’s popular American-made Godzilla film by Legendary Films, fans worldwide have been left looking for more Godzilla action in the future. Alongside Legendary’s planned sequel for their Godzilla film, Japanese film company and original Godzilla creators Toho has started to release info about their own entry into the Godzilla franchise! The film will the first Japanese-made Godzilla film since “Godzilla” Final Wars” in 2004, and the studio has announced that the film will be directed by Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi! Both directors have been known for their previous works with giant monsters; Anno is mostly known for his work with the “Neon Genesis Evangelion” franchise as well as his work with Ghibli film “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind”, while Higuchi is known for directing the recent “Attack on Titan” anime adaptation. On top of this announcement, the first teaser poster was released, showing off Godzilla’s giant footprint. While no release date has yet been set for the film, things are looking up for one of Japan’s most iconic characters!
