San-X’s giant Rilakkuma plush returns

Beloved San-X character Rilakkuma is coming to your home in a huge way with the return of its giant plush! This massive piece of Rilakkuma merchandise sizes in at a massive 5′5″ tall, and has returned due to massive public demand after its initial wave sold out! This giant plush will be available only in limited quantities until September 4th from San-X’s official website, and is currently sold for just over $650, making these plushes a real investment for serious Rilakkuma fans. Fear not, though, for San-X also has smaller, 40″ tall plushes available as well for both Rilakkuma and his white-pelted partner Korillakuma. EverBlock Systems has taken the fun of miniature building bricks to a whole new level with their line of new EverBlock modular bricks! These large-scale bricks, made to resemble popular children’s building bricks like LEGO and Mega Bloks, offer an easy to use, quick alternative for temporary and modular architecture, and can be used for a variety of purposes, just like their classic tiny counterparts.
Coming in a variety of colors and sizes up to 12″ long, the EverBlocks can be used to make tables, shelves, bookcases, walls, displays, and even entire buildings! This is made possible through the EverBlock’s construction, which also come with connector clips, reinforcement rods, metal baseplates, and channels to allow power cables and LED strips to run through the structures. Attack on Titan BE@RBRICK makes 1000% debut

Fans of the hit manga and anime series “Attack on Titan” can now look forward to a BE@RBRICK of the iconic Colossal Titan, courtesy of Medicom Toys. The 400% BE@RBRICK of the Colossal Titan, which stands at 11″ tall and released in February 2014, will receive a brand-new makeover into the giant 1000% BE@RBRICK line. The new figure will tower over the 400% version, reaching a height of over 27″! The 1000% BE@RBRICK is available for pre-order through Medicom until January 10th for 34,560 yen, and is scheduled to release in May. This enormous figure is one that diehard Attack on Titan fans shouldn’t pass up, so keep an eye on the upcoming release of this new collector’s item!

MegaBots giant robot debuts at NYCC

Last week’s New York Comic-Con, which took place from October 9th to October 12th, debuted a number of exclusive and upcoming toys and merchandise from a variety of independent manufacturers and large-scale companies alike. However, nothing was quite as large as the debut of the MegaBots giant robot! Created by Andrew Stroup, Matt Oehrlein, and Gui Cavalcanti, the giant 15-foot tall robot is known as the MegaBot Mark I, and stands as a prototype for an upcoming series of paintball-shooting giant robots. The mech, which currently only featured a working cockpit and moving arm, weighs a total of 15000 pounds, and came equipped with a cannon arm that fired paint-filled foam shells at designated targets.
Meant as an entertainment tool and big toy rather than a fully-automotive giant robot, the MegaBots series are planned to face off in large-scale paintball matches, and will feature working legs, central torso, and two-man cockpits upon completion. With previous mechanical constructs including the 18-foot wide walking Stompy robot in 2012, keep an eye out for more MegaBots news when the project’s Kickstarter page goes live later this month!
