Disney’s newest animated film, Moana, has finally received its full trailer! Mere weeks before the movie debuts in theaters across the world on November 23rd, fans can get a sneak peak at the action and characters in this newest release. Moana takes place in the ancient South Pacific, and follows the adventures of sea navigator Moana as she sets sail with the mysterious deity Maui in search of a legendary island. Fans have been looking forward to the movie since the original announcement in 2014, and are sure to enjoy this newest look at Disney’s upcoming film! Remember, the movie comes out this November 23rd, so mark your calendar and look forward to it! In the meantime, check out the released trailer below.

Lost Dr. Who episodes to return as animation

In 1974, a number of classic BBC shows and episodes were lost in an archive purge, among them several episodes of the highly renowned “Doctor Who” series of sci-fi dramas. In an effort to restore the episodes and recreate them for modern audiences, the BBC has announced that “The Power of the Daleks” lost episodes will be recreated in animation! These cartoons will use the original audio, as well as use shot composition and setup from the few surviving clips of these lost episodes in order to remain as faithful to the original as possible. “The Power of the Daleks” is a six-episode serial of the Doctor Who series that originally aired from November 5th to December 10th, 1966, and featured the Doctor taking on his eternal arch-rivals, the robotic Dalek species. In commemoration of the original episodes that aired 50 years ago, “The Power of the Daleks” animation will air on November 12th, making this fall one to remember for Who fans across the globe!

Light installation immerses IFA attendants

Artist Jason Bruges and his design studio have created a light-based experience for visitors to the 2016 IFA industrial trade exhibitions in Berlin, Germany, titled “Pixel Constellation”! The art piece takes advantage of four piece of technology from LG Electronics in order to create the exhibit, along with a constantly changing light system meant to recreate the shimmering night sky. The exhibit itself uses light, sound, and architecture in its display, and will remain open at the IFA for the duration of the event this September. Check out the exhibit itself in the video below!

Popular monster collecting franchise Yokai Watch and Universal Studios have teamed up for a new series of fun Yokai Watch attractions at Universal Studios Japan! Visitors to the theme park in Osaka will be treated to a series of attractions and events in the Yokai Watch Festival, taking part in fun activities for the chance to gain exclusive Yokai Watch merchandise. Included in these events is the “Yokai Watch: The Real 4″ event, where visitors will explore the theme park with the help of a Yokai Pad and Watch to find hiding Yokai. Also featured in the festival will be dancing events set to music from the Yokai Watch anime, as well as other fun activities and attractions throughout 2016. For this event, Universal and LEVEL-5 have collaborated on a series of new exclusive Yokai for the event, including the Nyaaminator, who is based on the Terminantor franchise! All of these activities make Universal Studios Japan the ideal Yokai hunting spot for any diehard fan, with even more events scheduled for 2017!

The 3Doodler pen originally debuted by startup company WobbleWorks in 2013, giving users the freedom to draw their ideas in 3D real-time with its fast-drying ABS plastic. Now, WobbleWorks has unveiled the latest professional release of the 3Doodler pen, titled the 3Doodler Pro! The Pro pen, when compared to the original $100 pen release and the kid-friendly $50 3Doodler Start pen, will be a high-end user release, targeted mainly at adults and professional artists. The Pro will come with a number of new features for more professional projects, including the ability to use not only standard ABS plastic, but also wood, bronze, copper, nylon, and more in the pen! This is all thanks to the pen’s higher internal temperature, making the Pro pen definitely not for children. Parking garage transformed into LED art piece

Danish design office Kollision has developed a new art piece by turning a parking garage into an interactive sound & light spectacle! This piece, titled “The Rabbit Hole” was commissioned for 2016’s annual arts-themed Aarhus Festival in Aarhus, Denmark, and is located at the Salling department store’s parking facility.

The Rabbit Hole takes advantage of a large 82-foot deep cylinder within the parking garage to create a strobing light experience, simply through the use of programmed LEDs and sounds. The LED lights are stationed all across the guard rails of the spiral, and are mapped together to resonate and strobe in various colors and patterns. Visitors to Brooklyn, New York’s infamous Coney Island are in for an artistic treat this month, thanks to this year’s showing of the “Coney Art Walls” exhibit! An annual art collection, the Coney Art Walls are put together and curated by Joseph J. Sitt and Jeffrey Deitch, and features work donated by artists from all over the world. This year’s iteration of the Coney Art Walls featured work from artists like Tristan Eaton, D*Face, Daze, Mister Cartoon, Nychos, and many more, making it a must-see for any art fans in New York City. The exhibit will be open every day for the rest of the summer, which is lots of time to go check out some awesome artwork for yourself!

Tezuka's characters come together in card game

Animation Studio Tezuka Productions has announced a partnership with gaming company Active Gaming Media to bring Tezuka’s iconic characters to life in the form of the interactive card game, “Astro Boy: Edge of Time!” The game will feature a number of Tezuka’s characters, including Astro Boy, Black Jack, Phoenix, Magma, Epsilon, and many more in a cyberpunk future city setting.

The game itself will feature updated artwork of Tezuka’s characters from a number of talented artists, like Suda51, Hiroya Oku, Satoshi Yoshioka, Hiroaki, Hiroshi Matsuyama, and more! The game will feature both an expansive single-player story surrounding Tezuka’s characters, as well as an online multiplayer lobby where people from all over the world can compete in card battles. A demo for the game is already available on the game’s Kickstarter page, and the full release is currently scheduled for March 2017.

Working in conjunction with the new Leap Motion virtual-reality hand tracker, a brand-new physics engine allows users to realistically touch and move virtual objects. The Interaction Engine, as it is called, is an add-on for VR headsets that allow for more realistic and fluid interaction between users and the virtual environment around them. Used in conjunction with the Leap Motion trackers, this lets users pick up, stack, and even throw these items in a realistic fashion! This new tech will allow for a wider variety of custom experiences in virtual reality, for use in gaming, education, job training, and more! With the 2016 Olympics coming to a close this past Sunday, August 21st, the closing ceremony passed the torch from Rio to Tokyo in a large-scale presentation previewing the 2020 Olympics! The presentation featured a full-length video showing off Tokyo, Japan alongside a number of sports and collaborations with popular icons like Mario, Pac-Man, Hello Kitty, Doraemon and more.
