In order to help celebrate BMW’s 100th anniversary, BMW second company Rolls-Royce has rolled out a fresh look at their vision of the future in automation with their new vehicle, dubbed the 103EX. The 103EX is a high-concept futuristic proposal for the company’s future in fully autonomous luxury transportation, taking advantage of the latest in technology and design to bring ease of use and style to users. Using Rolls-Royce’s Eleanor virtual assistant and autonomous driver, the interior of the cabin is steering free, allowing a wide space for drivers to relax on sofa-like seats. The vehicle will be emission-free, running off of an electric powertrain, and using 65 individual pieces of aluminum for wheels, rather than standard rubber tires. While the vehicle is not currently scheduled for retail release, it is a shining concept of the future of automation for Rolls-Royce and cars in general. Check out the videos to see specifics on the 103EX!

At this year’s E3, or Electronic Entertainment Expo for short, Nintendo had a huge focus on its highly anticipated upcoming Zelda title, and it did not disappoint. The game, unveiled to be titled “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”, will be the newest entry into the Legend of Zelda franchise, releasing on the Nintendo WiiU and the mysterious new Nintendo NX. Players will survive off the land, gathering fruit, food, supplies, and weapons in order to fend for themselves against the dangerous wildlife and giant robots that inhabit the vast open overworld. Nintendo has stressed that the game is very hands-off, allowing players to go wherever they want from the very start of the game. While the game itself won’t release until 2017, Nintendo has provided a very in-depth look into the game’s mechanics, as well as a cool new trailer, seen below. Animated characters help teach piano

2016 at 04:22 pm by admin | Comments Off

ArticlePianoAnimation

Researchers at MIT’s Tangible Media Lab have developed an alternative to traditional piano teachers and tutorials with their newly developed interactive musical score, titled “Andante”. This program, which uses a reflective keyboard cover and an automated system for the keys, projects tiny animated characters onto the screen above the keys, who press the keys on the piano as they walk along. These characters are meant to help teach the basics of music composition by walking in certain steps to certain chords and rhythms. By following along and learning the notes through the animated characters’ movements, users are encouraged to test and expand their learning and understanding of music composition, and even add on themselves with a little improvisation! Check out the video below to see Andante in action!

Banksy, internationally renowned graphic designer and street artist, has once against left one of his anonymous graffiti pieces for the world to enjoy, this time at Bright Farm primary school in Bristol, England. The piece, which depicts a crayon-like drawing of a schoolgirl playing with a realistic flaming tire, was drawn in thanks to the elementary school for their recent naming of one of their four school houses after Banksy. On top of that, Banksy, who is said to have been born and raised in Bristol, left a personalized note with the art piece, thanking the school for naming the building after him and encouraging students to add onto the artwork, cheekily stating “it’s always easier to get forgiveness than permission”. The school has decided to keep the artwork as is, in order for the piece to serve as inspiration for their student body.

The plane, which measures 13 feet long and weighing in at only 46 pounds, was designed as an affordable, easy-to-construct drone, as well as a testbed for future 3D-printing technologies that may be implemented into full-scale planes in the future. The Thor is composed of polyamide, and outside of the necessary electrical elements that allow it to fly, all of the Thor’s pieces are made from this material, such as the rotors, landing gear, and hull pieces.
