All of us at Tomodachi want to thank everyone who attended Project Nihon Sunday and extend our deepest gratitude to Meghan Kean for hosting it! Together we had a lot of fun, made new friends, and created unique works of art. We hope you enjoyed this event as much as we did.
In addition to having a great time, we were also able to do a lot of good! Because of Meghan Kean and all those who bought the special art coloring books she supplied, Tomodachi was able to raise $460 for charity. All of the funds will be donated to the American Red Cross to help Japan recover from the recent earthquake and subsequent nuclear disaster. Additionally, we were able to make hundreds of paper cranes to be used as part of Cranestorm: Wishes in Flight. Sponsored by the Minnesota Brain Injury Association, Cranestorm is a massive art project that will help spread awareness about this devastating illness. Tomodachi is very proud to be able support these organizations in their efforts to help those in need in the Minnesota area and around the world.
We are very happy with how successful this event was and we hope you were, too! Thanks to our new artist centered organization, Tomodachi Artists, we will continue to hold free art workshops, bring special guests, and encourage emerging and established artists in the Minnesota Community. Art is about community and Tomodachi will continue to build on the wonderful and talented art community here. Please keep an eye out for future events! We hope to see you at our next one!
