Make Totoro Your New Friend

Studio Ghibli is a Japanese animation film studio founded by renowned animator Hayao Miyazaki. The studio creates characters and art that brings the child out of all of us. Several anime features created by Studio Ghibli have won the Animage Anime Grand Prix award including Laputa: Castle in the Sky in 1986, My Neighbor Totoro in 1988, and Kiki’s Delivery Service in 1989. In 2002, Spirited Away won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature, the first, and thus far only, anime film to win an Academy Award.
All new Totoro items are coming to Tomodachi for the holidays. The cute and cuddly keeper of the forrest and his friend the cat buss as well as all the other little Totoros are waiting for you to take them home for new adventures. We will have plush, wind up toys, stamps and more for you to create the world of Totoro.
Kiki, the little witch with her own delivery service will be here too.

Gundam 00 Series Model Kits in Stock

Gundam is a metaseries of Japanese anime created by renowned animator Yoshiyuki Tomino with Sunrise studios that features giant robots (or “mecha”) called “Gundam”. The first TV series started back in 1979, that has since spawned an overwhelming franchise of movies, manga, novels, toys and video games. Further series include Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam (1985), after which, alternative timelines have been produced and developed. Those series include the Future Century, After Colony, After War, Correct Century, Cosmic Era and Anno Domini timelines. Also Mobile Suit Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing and Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ.
If you’re a fan of any of the Gundam series, you’ll want to check out our new shipment of model kits. Bandai produces plastic “pop” together model kits in several scales and design complexity. Right now at Tomodachi we are importing the Gundam 00 HG series models. They’re a breeze for experienced modelers, and a good learning experience for newcomers to build and practice basic modeling skills before moving up to higher grade levels. Polycaps are included for basic articulation at the neck, shoulders, elbows, knees, and ankles. Parts come in color plastic sheets, with foil stickers for some details. While paint is not required for these models, it will be necessary if you want show-accurate details, and would add a realistic appearance to the final product. Instructions are in Japanese but are extremely well illustrated so anyone can follow them.

His cute and playful yet sexy and sophisticated characters and design has brought him international success. Collaborations with brands such as Kidrobot and Hello Kitty have produced amazing art works that you can find on several products at our store. Designer Paul Budnitz founded Kidrobot in 2002. He is responsible for creating toys, apparel, accessories, and other products in collaboration with many of the world’s most talented artists and designers. Kidrobot is the cutting edge of both pop art and mass culture. Many of their toys, such as Dunny, MUNNY, and Frank Kozik’s Labbits and Mongers, attract huge followings. Artists that work with Kidrobot have gained celebrity status-these include USA artists Frank Kozik, Tim Biskup, Huck Gee, Joe Ledbetter, Tristan Eaton, Paul Budnitz, and Tara McPherson; the German design collective eBoy; Japan’s Devilrobots & Mad Barbarians; French street artists Tilt & Mist; the UK’s TADO and ilovedust; Australia’s Nathan Jurevicius; Argentina’s DOMA; and many, many others. It’s a open theme. Everyone gets 30 minutes to finish their sketch on 2D Munny drawing paper(8″ x11″). Full color acceptable. We will provide you with the materials but you can bring your own material. The sketch has to be finished in the store. Call for details.

Holiday Brawl!

Hey friends! Tomodachi is having another *Super Smash Bros.* Tournament this Saturday at 4pm! Space is limited so register early!
The rules are pretty simple:
1. Register at the store!
-Don’t be shy 
just tell an employee that you want to register for the contest and they’ll get you set up.
Registration runs from Dec 1st. to 3:30pm Sat. Dec. 5th
Here’s what we’ll need when you register:
* first and last name
* phone#(and email)
* $3 registration fee
* You need to know which character you will be playing as! This decision is final and you will not be able to switch characters once you’re done registering.
The Registration Fees will all go to charity.
**Once the contest slots are filled the official tournament registration window will be closed.
If you don’t register before the tournament fill up you can enter on our “back-up list.” which does not require a registration fee.
-> Playtime is not guaranteed for back-up players, ‘back-ups’ will play in the situation that someone does not show up or some similar scenario.
2.Be there or be square!
-it’s hard to win a tournament if you are not here, and the NINTENDO Wii remote won’t work all the way from your house! Please be on time or you will be disqualified 
**The game -if you didn’t guess- is going to be “Super Smash Brothers Brawl” and will be played on the NIntendo Wii with Wii remotes.
**Contestants will brawl in 3 minute one vs one random stage matches. There will also be no items.
The Winners of the tournaments will receive the following prizes:
1st: $50 gift card
2nd:$25 gift card
3rd: Giant Pocky
4th: Tomodachi T-shirt

‘Happy Holidays!’ Munny decorating Contest

Tomodachi is having another Munny decorating Contest! Anyone can enter the contest! The theme for this contest is ‘Happy Holidays!’. Create your munny with winter wonderland or winter holidays themes. The main focus of the contest is to promote the message that everyone can create unique and creative art works. We look forward to seeing your entries!
Tomodachi Munny Contest Rules and Regulations*:
The Process for entering in the contest is simple:
Step1: Purchase a Munny(s) from us. Retail $9.95tax
Step 2: Decorate your Munny and fill out the included name tag
-The THEME for the contest is: HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
BE CREATIVE, BE FUNNY, BE HAPPY and please don’t be negative or provocative. Holidays should be joyful!
Name tag should be filled out as following:
-Name of your Munny
-YOUR name (first and last)
Step 3: Submit your Munny(s) with nametag(s):
Just swing by the store with your Munny-art piece and tell a Tomodachi store manager or employee that you are submitting an entry for the contest! Don’t be shy and don’t worry we will not disclose any of your information under any circumstances it is merely for contest contact purposes!
-The deadline to submit your Munny(s) is December 13th, 7pm.
Step 5: Waiting
-We know waiting is hard but time flies! We will announce the winners on December 23th. Your Munny will be displayed at the store thru Dec 31st.
if your are one of the winners we will display your art-works for a month. But don’t worry your will get it back promise!
The entries will be split up into two age group categories:
13 years of age and under
AND
14 years of age and older
You may submit up to THREE Munnys for the contest.
The Prizes are as follows for both categories:
1st: $100
2nd: $75
3rd: $50
5x 4th: X-Mas Munny
All participants will receive a surprise gift from Tomodachi!
